Story Time
Our Story Time Service
Reading to children is incredibly powerful
Through telling stories we help children to understand the world around them which invites them to use their imaginations and boosts critical thinking.
Storytelling is an educational tool that has been used in our culture for over 60,000 years. Storytelling holds profound significance in Aboriginal culture, serving as a primary means of passing down knowledge, traditions and values from generation to generation.
Dreamtime stories are foundational narratives that explain the creation of the world, the origins of landscapes, the relationships between people, animals and the land. These stories are not just myths; they are a living, spiritual connection to the past, present and future.
Our story time service is where Little Jarjums founder Emily, will join you for 1 hour to share with you some dreamtime stories as well as create engaging discussion and interactions with the listeners
At the end of storytime, Emily will present two Little Jarjum dolls for the jarjums to keep for play, to make their own stories as they explore and extend their learning about aboriginal culture.
